The Crystal Ship

The Crystal Ship

"The days are bright and filled with pain
Enclose me in your gentle rain
The time you ran was too insane
We'll meet again, we'll meet again..."

Some thought this song title was about drugs. The other major theory is that Jim Morrison was pining over his former girlfriend of three years, Mary. This piece spoke to me as "The Crystal Ship" because the gleaming of the gold and the "bleeding heart" red seemed to come alive together across a stormy sea of deep green and black.

6" x 6" ceramic tile done in vibrant alcohol ink. Framed to 8" x 8" in a black wood frame. Resin finish. Can be used as a trivet.
