“No mandolin wind couldn't change a thing
Couldn't change a thing no, no
The coldest winter in almost fourteen years
Could never, never change your mind …”
Winter is harsh. This I know as I am currently enduring a brutally cold winter in rural Wisconsin. The song title for this piece refers to a girl not leaving her man's side despite a brutal winter they were enduring. Her mind could not be changed and she stayed. There is irony in the brutality of winter yet the beautiful hues of white and blue winter colors. I like to think that this piece calms and shows light from love in an otherwise dark winter.
